Download OPL PS2 — Official Release

Download OPL PS2 for free from the official GitHub repository. Stable v1.1.0, the latest v1.2.0-Beta build, and a direct ELF file — with guidance on which one to pick.

OPL PS2 is distributed for free through its official GitHub repository, ps2homebrew/Open-PS2-Loader. There's no installer or account required — pick a build below, copy the file to your memory card or USB drive, and you're set.

Only download from GitHub. Because OPL is open-source, its entire release history is public and verifiable. Third-party "download OPL PS2" sites sometimes bundle outdated or modified builds — going straight to the source avoids that risk entirely.

Current Releases

v1.1.0 — Stable

Released Dec 24, 2023. The most tested production build, ~1.2 MB, packaged as a .7z containing the ELF. View changelog.

v1.2.0-Beta — Latest (Terbaru)

Rolling beta build, updated frequently with the newest fixes. ~1.3 MB, .7z package. View changelog.

OPNPS2LD.ELF — Direct File

Just the executable, built from the latest commit — no archive to extract, ready to copy straight onto a memory card or USB drive.

How to Know Which Build Is "Terbaru" (Latest)

GitHub always tags the newest beta build as latest on the releases page, separate from the numbered stable tags like v1.1.0. If you specifically want the newest available build regardless of stability, download whichever file sits under the latest tag; if you want the safest, most field-tested build, stick with the numbered stable release.

After Downloading

  1. Extract the .7z (if you chose that format) to get OPNPS2LD.ELF.
  2. Copy the ELF into the APPS folder on your FreeMCBoot memory card, or directly onto your USB drive's root/OPL folder depending on your launch method.
  3. Boot the PS2 from the FMCB menu and select OPL to launch it.

Additional Downloads

The GitHub releases page also hosts OPL variant builds (different default configurations) and an OPL + Languages package bundling every available translation. Both are optional — the standard ELF works for the vast majority of setups.

Frequently Asked Questions

The official repository is github.com/ps2homebrew/Open-PS2-Loader. All legitimate builds — stable releases, betas, and source code — are published there under the "Releases" tab. Avoid downloading OPL from third-party file-hosting sites.
As of this writing, the latest tagged stable release is v1.1.0, alongside a continuously updated v1.2.0-Beta build that tracks the newest commits. Check the GitHub releases page directly for the current "latest" tag, since beta builds update frequently.
Use the stable release (v1.1.0) if you want the most tested, predictable experience. Use the beta (v1.2.0-Beta) if you want the newest bug fixes and compatibility improvements first — it's still generally reliable since it's built from the same actively maintained codebase.
The .7z package includes OPL plus supporting folders/config; the .ELF is just the single executable file, ready to drop directly into a memory card's APPS folder or a USB drive without extracting an archive.
